Central bank says trend inflation speeds up to 6% in December

MOSCOW, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s trend inflation calculated for a 5-year interval accelerated to 6.01% in December from 5.88% in November, the central bank said in a statement on Wednesday.

The estimate for a 3-year interval increased to 6.56% from 6.51%.

The authority said that the measures of monetary policy toughening would cool excessive demand and reduce the inflationary pressure.
